NBES Writing Fair Winners
North Brooks Elementary writing fair winners were announced by Principal Ervin Sloan. They are Kindergarten- Aubrey Hurst-“My New Home,” 1st Grade- K.J. Manning- “An Alien,” 2nd Grade- Drake Davidson- “A Day at Wild Adventure,” 3rd Grade- Tydarian Dennard- “One Day in the Nile as a Genie,” 4th Grade- Keir’riyah Hamilton- “What Clever Little Girl,” and 5th Grade- Arrilea Herring- “Courageous Isabella.” They were recognized at the county-wide Academic Reception and everyone’s work will be on display at the Valdosta Mall. Quitman Elementary Writing Fair Winners
Principal Irma Hall is very pleased to present this year’s Writing Fair Winners. Career Fair Peaks Students’ Future Interests
BCMS Graduation Coach Inez Turner and ECHOES After-School Program Director Janie Jones worked together to host a Career Fair for middle school students. Over thirty area businesses manned booths at the fair and spoke with students about career choices. Students learned about the many different career choices in our area. The businesses that participated were *Brooks County Development Authority, Robert Bearden, Trucking Inc., Brooks County 911, Thomas University, *Colony Bank, *Horace Mann Insurance, *Brooks County Hospital, *Chiropractic Works Health Center, U.S. Army, Brooks County Forestry, Marable Dental Center, *Valdosta Technical College- Drafting, Early Childhood, Commercial Truck Driving, Printing and Graphics, Radiology, and Cosmetology, Mary Kay Consultants, Langboard, Inc., Scruggs Concrete, Quitman Fire Department, BCHS Head Football Coach- Maurice Freeman, Black Crow Radio Media, K Country 104.5 of Albany, Victims Advocate District Attorney’s Office- Valdosta, Housing Resource Solution- Valdosta, Chelsea Hargett (Nail Technician), Department of Juvenile Justice, The Haven Battered Women Shelter, Colquitt EMC, Demand Reduction- Moody Air Force Base, Wild Adventures, Lari Hagan (local artist), Lindsay Herring Swengros- Photography, Kendall Blankumsee- Licensed Funeral Director, Valdosta Hospitality, and City of Valdosta. Brooks Boys' Place 1st in Region
Congratulations to the Boys' Track Team at Brooks County High School. The boys placed 1st in Region 1-AA for the second year in a row. Eight of the boys will advance to the state meet this week.
