Effective March 30, 2015, former Brooks County High School students who previously failed to receive a high school diploma or were denied graduation solely for failing to achieve a passing score on the Georgia High School Graduation Tests may petition the Brooks County Board of Education for a high school diploma. Students who were enrolled for the first time in 9th grade on or after July 1, 1981 are eligible for submission of this petition.
Petitions may be picked up from the Brooks County Board of Education office located at 1081 Barwick Road Quitman, Georgia.
Petitions will be processed as received. The completed and signed petitioner form along with a scanned/copied image of government issued identification is delivered or mailed to the attention of Dr. Tammie F. Patterson, Director of Student Services at the following address: Brooks County Board of Education 1081 Barwick Road Quitman, Georgia 31643 Or email@example.com A records review will be conducted to determine if requirements have been met. Once the final review is conducted, the petitioner will be notified via mail regarding the final status of the petition. If the petitioner has met the requirements, information will be included regarding diploma pick up and/or ordering. Petitions will be processed in five (5) to 10 (ten) business days from the date received.
