Brooks County High School Principal Irma J. Hall

Principal Irma J. Hall

Irma Hall began her career in education after working for ten years in the business field with the Federal Land Bank (agricultural loans department).  While serving as a PTO officer for Quitman Primary when her children were in grades 1-3, Mrs. Hall realized that she had a real passion for making a difference in the lives of children.  Therefore, she enrolled at Thomas University to add to her business/bookkeeping certification.  Mrs. Hall later transferred to Valdosta State University where she received a Bachelor's Degree in Early Childhood Education and later a Master's Degree in Educational Administration/Leadership.

Before being employed with the system, Mrs. Hall served as a member of the Brooks County Board of Education.  She has a wealth of varied experiences in the field of education which serves as excellent resources as she works daily with teachers, students, parents, and other administrators.  During the past 22 years, Mrs. Hall has worked as Assistant to the Title 1 Director at the school system's central office; served as the Parent Involvement Coordinator for the system; taught Title 1 classes grades 1-5; then taught second grade.  Mrs. Hall transferred to North Brooks Elementary School as the Assistant Principal in 1999 and two years later became the Principal.  In 2008, Mrs. Hall transferred back to Quitman Elementary where served as the Principal until Spring 2011. She has recently been named as the Principal of Brooks County High School starting Fall of 2011.

Mrs. Hall and her husband, Randy, reside in Quitman. She sees many of her students and their families out and about in the community on a regular basis.  Mrs. Hall seeks out opportunities to visit informally with families because she feels that this contact helps students realize that parents are working together to help each child obtain a brighter future.
