BCMS Grant WinnersWarde Chambers Mini Grant Winners from Brooks County Middle School were: Michelle Sorrells, Jennifer Laxton, Angie Tillman and Holly Gougeon. Each teacher was awarded $500.00 each from the Warde Chambers Scholarship Fund Committee. Congratulations!!!

 

 

Brooks County Middle School Principal Howard Akers, along with six BCMS teachers traveled to Seattle as academic representatives of being one of two Georgia schools to be named a National Title I Distinguished School. The achievement recognizes closing the achievement gap by creating a more equitable educational environment for all students to have the same opportunities to acheive excellence.

The Future City Competition held on January 21st at Southern Polytechnic State University. 

The Presenters were Jasmine Shelton, Keir'riyah Hamilton, and Owen Banaitis.  Jason Sopko was the Engineer Mentor.  Other team members were:  Jaquez Head, McKenzie Simpson, Jamaya Shelton, Ashley Reamey, Sha' Robinson, Jameshia Tremble, and Emily Blow (not pictured).

Awards:  Most Innovative Infrastructure, 2nd place over all (out of 152 teams!!)
