Student Activities

Students enjoy the structure of their day from morning breakfast in their classroom to connection classes and sports.  The middle school was the first in the Brooks County district to embrace the new concept of eating breakfast in the classroom.  Teachers have found that 91% of students are eating breakfast now.  Many have seen the positive attributes to this concept, including students who are more alert and oriented in class, fewer visits to the nurse’s office and improved school attendance.  Administrators are anxious to see test scores improve because of this new concept.

Students are enrolled in two connections classes each nine weeks in addition to their basic academic courses.  These connections courses include Physical Education, Health, Agriculture Education, Band, Music, Keyboarding and Technology.  The school recently received a $75,000 grant for a wireless Language Arts class-room, providing students with state of the art technology.
