Mr. Charles Perry
Charles Perry was born and raised in Turner County. He received his Bachelor’s and Masters degree in the area of Health and Physical Education from Valdosta State University. Mr. Perry received his Educational Specialist degree in the area of Educational Leadership from Argosy University. Mr. Perry began his educational career in 1996 at Brooks County Middle School teaching reading, health and physical education classes. He was also the Athletic Director and Head Football coach at the middle school during his tenure. His teams won the middle school championship in 2002, 2004, 2005, 2008, 2009 while finishing runner-up 2007, 2010 - 2012. Mr. Perry has two children that attend Brooks County Schools, Mac and Anna.
Mrs. Melissa Alexander
Mrs. Melissa Alexander is honored to serve as Assistant Principal at Quitman Elementary School. She is a Valdosta native who began her teaching career in Brooks County at Quitman Elementary School teaching fifth grade. Mrs. Alexander obtained a Bachelor of Science degree in Early Childhood Education, Master’s degree in Reading and a Specialist degree in Educational Leadership, all from Valdosta State University. She also has an endorsement in gifted education. During her 18 year career in Brooks County, Mrs. Alexander has served in various teaching and leadership positions. After serving two years at North Brooks Elementary as Academic Coach, Mrs. Alexander is excited to return to Quitman Elementary School where she believes Quality Education Starts. Her passion is for all students to succeed through collaborative efforts with parents, teachers, students and community.
