Brooks County Academic Enhancement Program

One of the most important phases of a person’s educational development is that of learning proper behavior, cooperation, respect, and self-discipline.  Without these characteristics, it is difficult for a person to maintain the proper attitude to develop intellectually.  It is the school’s responsibility as a part of the total educational process to assist the student in the development of self-discipline.  In the process, sometimes it becomes necessary to impose penalties on students for inappropriate or atypical behavior that interferes with the educational process.

The Brooks County Schools Academic Enhancement Program is designed for students that have exhibited discipline problems at their school of record. These students are assigned to the AEP by a tribunal panel for a period of time. The main focus of the AEP is the re-engagement of youth in learning in order to better prepare these youth to successfully re-enter their school of record or enter high growth occupations and careers.  There have been some changes in the structure of the Academic Enhancement Program for the 2014 - 2015 school term. The program will operate three days per week (Tuesday, Wednesday and Thursday) the hours of operation will be from 1:00 - 4:00 pm. Transportation is not provided by Brooks County Schools for students that are assigned to the Academic Enhancement Program.

ALL Schools in this district participate in Cep (Community Eligibility Provision). This Means that All students in the Brooks County Schools eat at no cost
