Board Members
The Brooks County Board of Education is composed of seven members. The Board is the official governing body of the Brooks County School System. The Brooks County Board of Education is elected by citizens and is responsible for governing the school system through the development of local policies. The Georgia State Board of Education policies, legislation and court rulings also affect the educational policies in the Brooks County School System.
Regular Board meetings are held the second Tuesday of each month at 6:00 p.m. in the Board Room of the Superintendent's office at 489 Barwick Road. The public is welcome to attend.
Our Board of Education members are
Brad Shealy (President), Larry Cunningham (Vice-President), Wayne "Chip" Carroll, Jr., Gary Rentz, Frank Thomas, Myra Exum, and Nancy Whitfield-Dennard.
