School Nutrition

"Preparing Children to Learn" is the motto for the Brooks County Nutrition Program.

To master classroom learning and skills, students must have a healthy body and mind. School nutrition professionals consider this an important challenge. School cafeterias are "learning laboratories" where students find selections of healthy foods every day and where they are encouraged to develop habits that will lead to a lifetime of healthy eating. In the Brooks County Schools, the staff strives to provide the best quality foods along with the most nutritious food selections. Our program serves over 2200 lunches and 1500 breakfasts daily! The meals meet all the federal guidelines and are offered at a very low cost to the student.

2011-2012 Daily Meal Prices:

Full Pay Pre-K - 5th Grade: $1.10
Full Pay 6th - 12th Grade: $1.35
Reduced Price All Grades: $0.40
Breakfast All Grades: All students eat at no charge

Each student has a computerized account where money may be deposited for meals. We encourage parents to send money or a check for meals either for the week or month. Please enclose the money in an envelope with the student's name and student ID number or write this information on the check.

If you have questions concerning your child's account you may reach the manager at the school.
