Twenty seven Brooks County High School graduating Seniors are Honor Graduates. High school Registrar and Counselor, Whitney T. Monetti  said that the number of honor graduates has been on the rise for the last four years. There are a total of 122 graduating seniors set to receive their high school diplomas this Spring

facebook             twitter                                                                 Brooks County Schools- Distinguished Title 1 District- Small Category!

Brooks County Schools was among four school districts recognized at the Title 1 Conference in Atlanta in July.  TheBanner Georgia Department of Education recognizes each year school districts that have made the greatest gains in the meeting or exceeding state standards on assessments administered in the previous year compared to assessments administered in the current school year. The state recognized four school districts, one large school district with a student population of over 10,000, one medium school district with a student population of 4,000-9,999, one small district with a student population of 2,000- 3,999, and one extra small school district with a student population under 2,000.  Brooks County Schools was awarded the Small School District award and received a $50,000 monetary award, a plaque and a banner.  Brooks County Schools Superintendent Debra Folsom accepted the award on behalf of the staff and students for the Small District category.  Other schools recognized were Henry County Schools (Large School District), Marietta City Schools (Medium School District), and Chattahoochee County Schools (Extra Small School District). 

The winning districts will each receive $50,000 from federal funds. "We credit this honor to the hard work and dedication of our board members, administrators, teachers, parents, and most of all our students," stated Brooks County Superintendent Debra H. Folsom.
